Running in a charity run/walk is a great thing for a number of reasons. If you are a runner, or want to get into shape, there is no reason why you shouldn't do this type of thing.
1. It is something to work towards. If you know you have a race coming up soon, it is a good motivator to stay out there running or walking.
2. Pick a charity that you would like to support and then gladly pay the entry fee. This race footage is from Al's Run in Milwaukee. The proceeds go to Children's Hospital.
3. You stay more connected to your community if you partake in these events. You might see some people you know or walk/run cool routes.
4. It is a great way to be with family and friends. You can train together and run the race together, or if you are running it without any family or friends, invite them down to cheer you on.
