A modern tale of the day-to-day life of a salaryman, shot in Tokyo, it boasts exceptional footage of everyday vistas of this metropolis. His mundane and repetitive life is shown in detail as he attempts to piece together his life using the aid of a pocket camera, after losing his memory. A widescreen mini spectacular as reality is stretched and warped to dramatic effect.

I saw this on the Sundance channel's thirty minute Shorts, themed "Nightmares" the other day. I was really surprised since I saw it here before on TV...

it could be implied that he is but one of a multitude of salarymen, a generic shared identity.

I commissioned/produced this film. @carlindennis: it is all deliberately ultra-widescreen. normal pan and scan version doesn't exist.
It was shot on prosumer DV equipment, and the bullet time effect was a 'homebrew' rig using cheap Chinese still cameras.
