I pick every note. I didn't think that it was that hard.

Yeah, it's easy if you are doing it wrong or cheating, but he's picking every note which very few people do.

trying not to sound like a dick here, but the intro is actually very easy on the guitar. It is smoke on the water easy. I have heard many new guitar players play that intro.
