I had the pleasure of meeting Leland Sklar when he was touring with Barefoot Servants. He is one of the nicest people I ever met in my life. I think that is one of the reasons he gets so many great gigs. He is an outstanding musician, of course. But who would want to spend a lot of time in the studio or on tour with a jerk? If I was a recording artist getting a band together Leland would be my first phone call.
