I think maybe because your hair is color treated you'd want a conditioner that has some restorative properties to it to counteract the stripping that comes along with color-treated hair. Maybe you should give retread a try. It has seaweed gel, soya milk and yogurt in it to soften and condition your hair and it's designed for hair that has been processed. American Cream would be more for someone who's looking for a creamy conditioner and moisturizing.
