Shooting an Improvised Arrow Fletched with Leaves Out of a Slingshot (a.k.a. Slingbow):

Today, Zane and I are playing around with our slingshots and learning some Bushcraft/Survival skills in the process... But mainly just playing around and having FUN!

We are using a DIY improvised version of APlusSlingshots EZ Arrow Rest which he released on the Internet for everyone to make and use! Be sure to visit his channel to see his videos on the EZ Arrow Rest and more!

We are in a residential area today, so we decided to sacrifice speed, power, and the range of our slingshot and arrow. By using long, light pull bands, and a short blunt arrow we prevented a full, powerful, and lethal draw.

None of the fun was sacrificed though! Safety first! :-)

You should check out Aplus Slingshots as they make an arrow firing sling shot that's basically like this design but for hunting!

@CaptainFur I actually learned this little trick from Perry of A+ Slingshots on the BushcraftUSA Forum. :-) Whith the proper bands and a longer arrow this setup is lethal and can be used to hunt with. I'll try and show a demonstration with stronger bands and a proper arrow when I return home, where there is some space between me and neighbors. Don't want to shoot Somebody. :-)

BTW CatainFur is correct... that design is the EZ Arrow Rest which I put out on the net back when for everyone to make and use if they would like to try slingshot archery. I also made and sell a deluxe version and Take Down arrows for those who would rather shoot then build.

That is so cool, he is learning so many good lessons from you and so creative! keep up the good work with him, I always enjoy and love seeing when adults take the time to spend with the young ones because if we don't spend time with them they will find someone else to spend time with. Love this!
