  • ...why do you think hillary didn't leave bill after he humiliated her with his philandering? because of ambition. at least, that's take. hey it just occurred to me. i want to apologize for calling you stupid earlier. i do that sincerely & unreservedly. you're not even a little bit stupid. i hate when disagreement=animosity on here. so by all means, i'm sorry for that

  • i disagree. i think much of what all leaders do is done for aestehtics. in that case, hillary is well groomed. also, there's no denying the rapport they have. plus, you & i know that world leaders' spouses do a little more than swap cookie recipes. in politics, the goal is to gain an edge. that's why the wives of presidents are usually designed to be 1/2 (an equal half at that) of a power couple. 1st ladies stopped being tokens & arm candy when FDR had his 1st stroke my friend.

  • I don't think glad handing with the wives of foreign leaders and posing for photo opps with babies qualifies the first lady for much of anything, except for more glad handing and photo opps in the future.

  • really? you discount her years as 1st lady given her familiarity with foreign leaders that was built as a function of that relationship? c'mon jeff. you're a lot smarter than that. that compounded with her experience in senate give her a certain degree of qualification. hell, if laura sits in congress for a few years & makes some of the same "good" moves that hillary made, she's definitely qualified if you ask me. i honestly like laura not for SofD but she could serve this country as well

  • even better for Obama. The offer to Powell would have been a great political play. I personally discount Hilary's years as first lady. Or else, how about Laura Bush for Sec of Defense?

  • hillary lied her ass off but powell's hands ain't too clean either. but hillary is pretty well qualified given her 15+ yrs dealing with the principle parties. besides, powell quit on the last administration & summarily said he didn't want the job

  • of course, I mistyped. I just don't see Hilary as qualified for Sec of State. I would have liked to see an offer to Colin Powell - everyone likes him and he certainly has more experience than Hilary, including the sniper attacked that she and Sinbad managed to survive.

  • hillary is the SofS. biden is the VP. kucinich is light years away from being a washington guy; dr dean has been in congress since '05, he ain't a washington guy. they're radicals. BUT, i'm with you about putting ted out to pasture. i also think retreading hillary was a smart move in the machiavellian sense. we'll see

  • oh well, we don't have to agree. However, Dean's days are numbered as head of the DNC. We'll have to wait and see what direction the head in. If I were them, I would hire some of the folks who put together republican conventions, and ditch Kucinic, Kennedy and Hilary. (Bad sign that shes the new VP) They represent the old politics that Obama successfully pitched he was against.

  • i think you assessment that he never regained the passion & momentum is incorrect considering the caucus results & election results. the delegates backed him up outright. i dunno about you, but >120 electoral votes & 7M popular votes sounds pretty passionate to me
