@FIGHT1FOR2CHANGE3 - My original comment is moronic... funny to some... but proof positive that I drink all that single malt that I can... thus the idiotic comment(s)...
-
@BourneAccident what?
-
@FIGHT1FOR2CHANGE3 - Proof positive that I don't spit out whisky!
-
@BourneAccident lol your comment is moronic.

Hi Michael, try adding about 1/4 water to the whisky to open up the flavours, it stops the alcohol overpowering the flavour. Do what you want with your whisky, but can I have the Glenlivet you spat out (joke)
-
@michaelyblam doesn't spitting mean that you don't get the full finish taste from the whiskey, which makes spitting unsuitable to whiskey tasting?
-
Sorry, but necessary or not, the spitting is gross- can't you just edit that split second out? Maybe use the camcorder remote, and press pause? Also, how is it that the other really well-known and well respected reviewers can swallow a tiny bit, plus wouldn't you need to swallow a bit to get the true finish? Finally I think you'd need to swallow several dozen tiny sips before you'd start feeling light-headed.

@curleyteeth you have got to be kidding! It's the taste, you might as well just drink pure ethanol mixed with water otherwise!
Two things:
1. ARE YOU CRAZY!?! Spitting out perfectly good whiskey? I don't even spit out perfectly bad whiskey...
2. Get your self a good nosing whiskey glass... like a Glencairn with a watch cover... That glass sucks.... BUT... I'd drink that Glen out of the bottle if I had to...

1. Not crazy - we taste too many samples thus we need to split. I split $200 wines and $200 whiskies. Tasting is different from drinking...
2. I find the plain entry Riedel wine glasses perfect to taste beer , wine and whiskies. They are in bulb shape which is most important to trap aromas and they do not have a kink at the rim. Marketers (including Riedel) like to brain-wash people to use certain glasses for certain things. The most important thing is clean glass of bulb shape and no rim.

it is very flowery, and I like that, but it is so sharp.. I prefer something a bit more smooth.

Totally agree. It's a lighter, volatile/pungent style malt. I also like some more robust/fuller body.
