****UPDATEEE****
well adelina got a vet check yesterday and didnt pass with flying colors. she has a torn tendon or something and she tested positive for lameness in three of her legs and yet she doesnt look lame when you ride her..its so weird. but i could get her, blister her leg and put her out for 3-6 months for it to heal. and i dont want to go through with something like this again, where the horse i'm buying already has problems..its just not worth it. i'm sad and yet i'm not...this just means she's not the right horse for me and thats okay. i'm dissapointed though. but there you go..thats the update.
okay i'm sorta kinda trying this horse out, she's three years old. she has semi lead changes..we just have to work on the timing, but she can do them. this was her first time jumping over the wooden box and only like the 6th time she's ever jumped. ive ridden her three times. she's super calm and comfortable and moves pretty well. i really need a new horse and i think she might be the next one, i'll make a profit and she'll teach me while i teach her. i was thinking adelina for a name it means kind, noble and winged in spanish but i'm not sure about it now, any suggestions? feel free to tell me what i should do about her and what you think about her, structure criticsism is welcomed. thanks!

  • Are you taking her age in consideration with her training? It can be very bad for a horses antamoy to be working a young horse so much; keep in mind she still has about 3 years of growing still.

Just something to keep in mind.

    What Breed?

    She looks TBish.

  • i did, dont worry. i'm fully aware. this was only her sixth time jumping or something and the box was the highest thing. i've ridden her about four times, jumping two times out of that. her skills were becasue of her previous owner.

she's not done developing yet and i'm fully aware.

i think she's pure throughbred. i'm pretty sure she raced and she was being trained to play polo and the polo guy decided she was too big and not aggressive i guess you could say for it. so yeah.

  • Have you fre jumped her at all yet? Just curious. I know wth my ponies, it really helps them to jump some either at liberty or on a longe line. They kind of figure it out without worrying about a rider to add to their confusion. Plus, then you can get efeel for how scopey they are.

  • nope there isnt exactly a place to do that here. but i should. i just dont really have a place to do it.

  • awe claire shes precious! the second time she jumped the box was great!

  • thanks may!

    i knoww its soo cute!

  • Plus, young horses need lots of work on them in order to become great horses. And my quarter horse can't jump until she's four but thoroughbreds can start jumping when they're two because their joints close earlier than other horses. Just thought I'd say that she wasnt, by no means, overworking her horse:)

  • If you are looking for a project she would be a great horse. With younger horses you just have to have alot of patience( i don't haha) but if you aren't in a rush to show or anything then she would be great. Especially if you are working with a trainer it will be easier to train her as well. It's really fun to get a younger project horse and train them to become a great horse, so long as you keep in mind young horses have there days and arent very predictable. good luck(:! shes a cutie!

  • well darn! She is cute though!

  • hey thats what im doin'! i really like it better than buying a made horse. anyone can ride a made horse,(that doesnt make you a good rider, if you take a made horse and win) but if you can take a green horse and make them great, then you are a true rider.

    girl you can do it!!!

she is super cute, and quite, and i LOVE that name
