This is my short video documenting (a little over dramatized) the life cycle of small towns across the country and in particular a small town in Middle Tennessee. This video is nothing more than my feeble attempt at gaining some knowledge of how to take a thought or idea and translate it to video. This is solely a hobby of mine that I enjoy.

Music is from the Lord of the Rings Soundtrack for disclaimer purposes.

  • i live in a tiny town of about 700 people in new york. its amazing here but sadly surrounding areas are in rapid developement. i think im safe but my kids will see quiet dwindle away. its sad

  • So very sad and wrong,we can change the towns names, many times, and see the same story.

  • Wal Mart and other big box retailers are a large part of the problem, the bigger part is the very people who live in these towns head to Wal Mart to shop

  • You can thank big box stores like Wal-Mart for helping to destroy small town America and "mom & pop" businesses. Every time you shop at one of those places it's money in the hands of corporate crooks. Americans are stupid, greedy and really short sighted!

  • I really like this video, thank you for making it.

  • I'm still mad they closed the Franklin Cinema.

  • Looks just like my hometown, but it's gone too, they say downtown is dead. There's nothing there...it's all out near the walmart and target stores.

  • So much for progress but remember what we hold dear in our memories was once considered progress by those who created small town America.

  • So true. I lived all my life here and now we have lost the Dutch farms, orchards and fields to HUGE COPERATE CHAIN STORES and infinite $350,000 bare lawns called home developments.

New York and Philadelphia saw it as paradise and brought all it's crime and stores with them. It's GONE..ALL GONE. Traffic jams and malls are now going up faster then the weeds!

So this video piece does hit home with me. Thanks and well done!

  • that was interesting.. made me kind of sad. i like small town stuff, and i'm sick of all of the subdivisions going up.
