I've shown you this before, but now you'll see it a little better.

The Victorinox SwissChamp Plus:
-20 tools
-3.75" long closed
-1" thick, more or less
-5.2oz in weight

If you don't have a cargo pocket, you're gonna feel it. If you do, though, just barely. Despite its size, it's not ridiculous. As you've seen, pretty much every tool that contributes significantly to size and weight is very useful. Love it!

By the way, about that last tool that I didn't get quite done talking about: The last thing I wanted to mention about it is that the hook remover can also be used to hold the tip of a pencil for drawing arc lines or whatever.

Thanks for watching.

P.S. New blade coming in! Maybe later this week. I think you'll like it.

  • One thing I'm concerned about is the width of it, i don't normally buy Swiss army knifes, but i would like to know if the width of the knife affects how you use it at all, do you get used to it? and is it more of a domestic tool than outdoor?

  • @hraid750 I've never carried this knife in a pocket, always an external pouch on my belt. That being said, I easily could pocket carry this as I carry much larger things in many pockets daily. I also carry a backpack daily, so that's an option for me as well. But the belt thing is working so far :)

As for domestic or outdoors, I would be comfortable saying "both". It's expensive, so I don't like using it outdoors, but I have, and it works great! Just not so much with gloves.

    Thanks!

  • WAY cheaper than the regular champ, and the only thing you don't get is a pair of pliers.

  • @redbird963 In that case, an even better deal than I thought! It's always coming in handy every day, and it's holding up pretty well. No rust yet, but I do take care of it. Perfect for the plethora of small off the cuff modifications here and there, and also for everyday tasks. Thanks for watching!

  • After viewing this (and a few other) reviews I bought myself a Victorinox Swisschamp (a nice black one) and I absolutely love it. I always carry a Leatherman Charge TTi on my belt, but since I've got this Swisschamp in my pocket, I don't use the Leatherman that much anymore. I just love this Swiss Army knife. And F.Y.I. the can opener works GREAT !!! I never use a normal can opener anymore, always take out the Swisschamp in the kitchen, looks pretty stupid, but works like a charm. Greetings .

  • @Rikske77 Glad it played a part in your decision to purchase one! I was considering making an updated video that isn't as crappy and kinda irons out the initial misconceptions. Knowing that folks watch these, it might be worth doing.

The Charge TTi is a tool I've had my eye on for some time, a bit out of my price range though, for the time being. The M.U.T. or however it's called is also one that catches my interest. Although, it's hard to beat a Champ with black scales in looks, nice choice!

I own a couple of Leathermans (Charge TTi, Wave '03, MUT, Skeletool CX, Supertool '94, Style CS and 2 kick's) and I only recently started buying Victorinox, but I'm loving the "friendly" look of the Swiss Army knife, you can use it in a public place and nobody will look at you, but when you take out a MUT or a Skeletool (both have an "aggressive looking" blade) people tend to look scared.

Anyway, bought myself a red Swisschamp yesterday, just can't help myself ... ;-)

    Greets

  • @DemonHide

I also own a MUT, and although I like it very much, I believe it's less usefull as a Charge TTi or a Swisschamp because of it's size. I take the MUT with me when I go hiking in the forest (big knife, big saw ... perfect for the woods) but when I go anywhere else, I'll leave it at home.

  • @MasSF2010 Eh, I tried. Thanks for watching!

  • @deedin Ah, gotcha! Thanks for the insight.
