@24o691 if its men only, how do you explain the Toast to the Lassies, in which the women preparing the meal are thanked? And the Toast to the Laddies is traditionally given by a woman., if I'm not mistaken. Burns suppers can be either men only OR mixed company. And given how much Robert Burns was a ladies man, I don't rightly think he would object to such being present.

How can this be it 'done properly', there are women present. A traditional Burns' supper is men only.
