Whenever the gov't tells us we have an opt in OPTION what they mean is that for now we have a choice but in about 10 years it will be mandatory and they will try to tell us it's for our own good.

Insurance companies will go out of business under Obamacare, and he knows it and wants that. His prior video appearances going back to 2003 make this painfully clear. Obama's strategy in the long term is to eliminate private health insurance.

THe auto model works precisely because it doesn't pay for oil changes, tire balances, etc. It's CATASTROPHIC insurance, with the day to day stuff left to the customer to pay for himself.

Medical should go THERE. It would lower prices and improve care.

The bottom line is the insurance companies will have to sacrifice.

They will have to be forced to compete, they will have to find other means of generating revenue and the will have to find something other than a gov handout to keep them running, they will be called on to be creative. And the gov needs to give them the freedom to compete fairly. I would start with the model that the auto insurance companies have.
