Vans drove us through Zabljak, an important ski area in Montenegro and pulled into Hotel MB. Check in and assist up under the dormers in this crowded hotel. The Hotel MB is warm, cheerful, has hot water, and wonderful food. The small town of Zabljak was burned to its foundations during World War II but is now the center of Montenegrin winter sports.

A hike was scheduled for today into Durmitor National Park to see the glacial Black Lake. That was before the skies opened up. Plans were quickly changed to tomorrow. Durmitor National Park has over 27 peaks over 2,200m/7,200' and is loaded with excellent, well-marked hiking trails.

  • @sfflyer123 Sanitary conditions there were just like Europe. There was only one spot (if I remember correctly) that we bought bottled water. Everywhere else, we drank out of the tap. Go visit! Wait until you see my Split and Hvar, Croatia videos. Should appear in another week or so. Incredible.

  • @travelswithsheila Good to know! One day, I want to try to hit Croatia. How are the sanitary conditions in the Balkans? Is it like 3rd world, where you have to boil the water, and you get sick every few meals or is more like Western Europe?

  • @sfflyer123 We went crazy between the different currencies. But the Euro was usually taken in all the Balkan countries. Keep watching. Every day I'm posting more videos on this latest Balkan trip. Bosnia-Herzegovina next, then back to Croatia with wonderful Split. We NEVER felt unsafe in any of the Balkan countries. Told to watch belongings, but that was it. Best regards, Travels With Sheila

  • Excellent video. I did not realize that this was part of the Euro zone. I saw that you had been to Albania and then to Serbia. Did you ever feel unsafe as a tourist in any of these countries?
