"The Rising" An American Bald Eagle carved from a single 3,000 pound log of red oak. Jason carved the Figure on site, in Ernest Veterans Park, located in Kensington Maryland.
This beautiful Eagle stands as a memorial to all our US Veterans, and as a Loving memorial to his niece Katie.
Katie's spirit soars
In the small American town of Kensington, Maryland, the proud figure of a bald eagle gazes down on the residents from its perch on one of the town's main streets.
The 2.4m-tall carved sculpture would be enough to inspire the locals as an enduring symbol of American freedom, but this sculpture holds an even more special meaning.

WOW!!! So beautifully done and so touchingly poignant... the story of Katie being particularly heart-rending. "Wings of an Eagle" is very moving... reminds me of the singer/songwriter music I loved in the 70s, stuff like Cat Stevens and Harry Chapin. I nurture a huge love of sculpture, actually took some classes once... its wonderful to see Jason's vision come to life from a log... just amazing. Jason is both talented and handsome! Thank you for this very affecting video, Shanon.

This is truly a magnificent work of art! The video is so beautifully made and the song is so perfect. Jason has amazing talent,and the dedication to Katie is inspiring!
