@KnfRaw You're right I should have said flight and I was probably thinking too hard but the prefix avi- does mean "a combining form meaning 'bird' used in the formation of compound words e.g. 'aviculture'." Another example would be aviary which is where birds are kept. It refers to aircraft because planes and such take inspiration from birds i.e. wings and a tail/rudder. I am a smart arse if you must know.

@Brevilo911 You mean it can fly right? Aviation applies only to aircraft. I wouldn't normally correct someone but it sounds like you're trying to be a smart arse by saying 'aviation' when the obvious word to use is 'flight'.
