to me, happiness is believing you are intrinsically valuable and loved unconditionally, without the need to "do something great to prove yourself." happiness = being free from external pressure.
I still believe in paradise, but now at least I know its not the some place you can look for because it not where you go. It How you feel in a moment of your life, and if you find that moment it'll last forever.
“...again and again, one is commanded and ordered to 'be happy.' But happiness cannot be pursued; it must ensue. One must have a reason to 'be happy.' Once the reason is found, however, one becomes happy automatically. As we see, a human being is not one in pursuit of happiness but rather in search of a reason to become happy, last but not least, through actualizing the potential meaning inherent and dormant in a given situation.” -Viktor Frankl, Man's Search for Meaning
“...being human always points, and is directed, to something or someone, other than oneself... The more one forgets himself...the more human he is and the more he actualizes himself. What is called self-actualization is not an attainable aim at all, for the simple reason that the more one would strive for it, the more he would miss it. In other words, self-actualization is possible only as a side-effect of self-transcendence.” -V. Frankl
I find that there is a strong correlation between my happiness and my feelings of gratitude and appreciation for the things in my life just as they are.
Of course, I don't have complete control, so sometimes things happen that I just do not like. But usually if I am intentional about it, there are still things to be grateful for. These can temper the negatives.
Sometimes I have to put in a lot of energy just to get my basic survival and security needs met (like more than 10% of my total enrgy)
You are not only smart but extremely handsome as well :))

Hi Henry, I get this. In fact, I think this could be a good topic for where we will be teaching overseas. I can't wait to read the book!
