Yikes. What an awful rendition of this classic. Even Anita O'Day's version is better. Sorry.

Tori is a crooner at heart, she would have fit right in with that era, and if she had been performing then, you guys would be reminiscing about her right now. But I'm glad she was born later. This is a treat, but her abilities IMO had a higher calling.

@kyshtym How can you love music when the technicalities are so important to you?
-
how dare you people complain that Tori doesnt "measure up"... you are idiots that wouldnt recognize a diamond from a dirt clod. There is no one that comes close to the talent and brilliance of Tori Amos. I fear for the state of humanity

I guess the people commenting on the "not as animated as Betty Hutton" haven't seen the movie and don't realize that Tori is performing all of these songs in the background at a WEDDING. This isn't the Dan Band, so generally wedding performers are a bit toned down.

@gattacca94 More like the naughty '40s, technically.

@superhetoric gotta convince me... yeah. I just watched Judy and you right.. maybe it was the orchestra

I actually like this cover!! No it's not as animated as Betty Hutton but she's not Betty Hutton so she would obviously have a different take on it. Good job Tori!!!
I love both versions. People: songs don't come with fuckin' RULES. Singers, arrangers, musicians interpret at will; it's PERSONAL, unique to every performer. NO "right" or "wrong"! Betty's performance is a joy and reflects her bubbly, over-the-top self. Tori's version is coy and sexy. Both are perfect for their respective settings. Not to mention--if Tori'd done it like Betty y'all would've sneered at her for being a copycat! Oh, and Tori DID say ZOOT. Zink?! WTF are those posters talkin' about?
