  • I had no power for 9 days and had to work the day after the storm. I remember working from 1 or 2 that day until 1 or 2 the next morning. I was spent. I also remember the mess in my neighbourhood for days and days. Climbing over trees and wires. There are still visual reminders everywhere that remind us of that day. Along with this video of course. :)

  • My wife and I drove around in this and I remember her watching above us for falling branches and wires and I drove around fallen branches and wires and avoided puddles that were very deep. It was something Ill never forget. I cant imagine what Haitians and other areas that have devastation like this feel like.

  • What a devestation. I wasn't living here then. Will this year, another El Nino year, be just as bad or more devastating?

  • I am not sure about that but this storm sure was nasty because we were not completely repaired or were we experienced with them. After this and White Juan we should be fine after any storm!

  • cool movie made em kinda sad for a moment..btw wat's the song called?

  • Well as you can see, now, the songs come up on the bottom of the video. Thanks to YouTube. The song is White Flag and the singer is Dido.

  • @seteben i had no power for almost 2 weeks

  • i live in Truro and it put a hole in my trailer lmao, we had to go to a hotel and stay

  • i know all of the damage isnt good but i remember havin so much fun during that time

  • my grandparents live in halifax, my grandfathers 1989 mercury grand marquis got blown through the living room window

  • @shryley El Nino is usually good for slowing Hurricanes. The winds blow opposite.

  • I SHARE SOMETHING I WAS THINKING TODAY:

    YOU CAN'T CHANGE THE PAST.

BUT YOU CAN RUIN THE PRESENT

    BY WORRYING OVER THE FUTURE.

    LOVE....AND YOU SHALL BE LOVED

  • Here on the south west part of the province it was not too bad, I don't recall losing power. We went to halifax just after this and it was quite a sight.

  • this was really bad I was living in Halifax when the storm hit . you never know when a storm like that is going to hit again hope it don't happen cause it's really hard at times to prepare for it.

  • Cool video; I love your use of Dido's "White Flag" as the background music! I live in the Annapolis Valley, so the storm did not affect us here that much; but my brother was living in downtown Halifax at the time, and he said he was scared his house was going to collapse!

Juan may have caused a lot of damage to our beautiful province, but it did not break our spirits!

  • @seteben Luckily we had a old woodstove sitting in our basement. We brought it upstairs and put it on our deck. Then we cooked everything we had and ate it over a period of a few days.
