  • Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaugh, and Mahalia Jackson. Five ladies with different music styles and music from different categories,Classic, Jazz and Gospel. Yet they turned the world upside down because they sang with feeling, joy and love. They sang from the heart.

  • I first heard this on a PBS special some 15 years ago, fell in love with the piece and with Ms. Anderson. An exquisite lady, an exquisite piece. I still find it tugs at my feelings, my being, my soul everytime I hear it.

  • Ms. Anderson sung this on the radio on the night of the D-Day invasion in Europe in 1944. It always brings a tear to my eye when I hear it, as it's like she is singing all the brave boys who will not make it back home to heaven as they liberate the world from Hitler

  • I am so glad that she came into the world blessed with a voice that made you hear heaven in it. The joy this song bring me when I hear her sing I travel places 'like green pasture.

  • @dwymer86 Wow! Where has this lady been all my life? Her clarity of voice is seldom heard and not all singers can emote, really sing with emotion and feeling without compromising the music. Her "Mon Coeur....." gave me chills.....would that I could learn and sing this piece that well!!!
