This is the sounds my E95 elliptical makes after multiple repairs. The squeak is mainly from the left foot pad which has been replaced twice. The right foot pad was replaced once. I've had multiple service calls and it is quiet for a few days after each visit then the noises come back. The "bump" sound from the back developed between the last two service calls and also disappeared and came back. The bump sound starts after about 15 minutes of work out and stops while the ramp goes up to 10 and then comes back when the ramp is down (48 min Interval work out at max level 9). Everything is well lubricated and all screws on the footpads are cranked down as tight as they go.

  • I actually figured this out. The problem was not the pedals, although the sound, feel and symptoms point to them. I tightened every bolt on the pedals until they cried and it didn't fix anything. The problem turned out to be the large nut at the front where the pedal bars connect to the arm bars. Its under the plastic "elbow" joint cover and is on the foot bar vs. holding things together. Tighten it and the whole arm becomes stable, the pedals feel solid, and the noise stops.

  • The squeak has always been the pedals. The left has been replaced twice and the right once. It always comes back. Only REALLY tightening the bolts helps, and the left side squeak is still coming back. Like yours, the left side is always worse than the right.

For that "bump" sound when the rollers reach all the way back, I don't know how to stop it. Lube on the rails helps, and it stops when the "Interval" program is on one of its "High" segments.

  • @auptagdar The bushings are pressed into the hole on either side that the large pin slides into. I took these out and lubricated the pin and the squeak went away. Unfortunately it came back quickly because I used a light lubricant. I will try some heavy duty grease next. The main problem is the pin has some ridges in it and it is simply wearing away the bushings which I would guess are a cheap plastic. This entire assembly will have to be replaced with a high quality bushing and pin soon.

  • I believe the squeak is coming from the large pin and bushings that the footpads rotate on, not the footpads them selves. That pin is held in place by one screw and washer. It has a black rounded head that fits flush on the other side of the footpad from the screw. Unscrew the screw half way, then tap on the screw head to knock the pin out, then undo the screw. The pin is kept from rotating by a large square underside of the rounded top which fits into a square hole. More to follow:

  • Have you resolved the squeaking yet? If so, how did you do it. My elliptical does this too on the left side only. I've spent more time trying to fix the squeak than actually using the machine. I've replaced the left lower link arm once, I have everything well lubed, and it is level. I've tried loosening the bolts, tightening them, swapping parts, etc. My squeaking sounds the same as yours.
