  • long live this guy... I wish we had a president like that in Greece...

  • The walkout here demonstrates spectacularly the conceited arrogant and anti democratic attitude that pervades this corrupt money guzzling hulk of an organisation. I understand that for the last 14 years the auditors have refused to sign off the accounts. I wonder why???

  • @romankorenec yeah the true is that like him iam against EU but ! but ! other his opiniones are without reality !

  • @lagsi1

    you are correct

  • The EU parliament has absolutely no power whatsoever. They are a bunch of elected people with no decision-making power, mostly responding to their national political party.

Who makes the laws (Regulations) is a commission of burocrats and lobbyists, whose laws are ranked higher than those of national parliaments, therefore violating the elementary concept of division of power and all constitutions of EU nations.

  • @Napoleon501ste You really must be joking. The EU is only democratic on paper. But then so was the USSR. The sheer arrogance of the way in which the parliament treated Klaus is a sure indicator of not only its legitimacy but also its willingness to listen to dissent. Their behaviour was disgusting and if they treat a President of a member nation like this then what chance the rest of us? I actually wrote to my MEP complaining about this and she answered me as if I were an idiot..

  • @ the commission creates laws. In terms of trade policy and competition policy, the parliament is only allowed to listen to law-suggestions; they have no power to decide on it. Same about foreign policy and safety policy.

This powerless parliament is an institution to make you believe, that there's a grain of democracy in the EU.

    The commission decides.

  • @kotouc The EU is democratic so if you don't like the way it works then you should change your vote. And if there are not enough votes for your idea's then you will have no power. Because the minority only rules in a dictatorship or an evil empire. The fact that Klaus can share his opinions shows that the EU is democratic not an evil empire. He does no exposes the EU, he proofs it's democratic character.
