This gathering occurs every sunday on Mont Royal here in Montréal - basically anyone can show up with a foam sword & shield and prove their worth. Kick ass.

I was filming it on the eastern side of Mount Royal in Montréal where, in 2006 at least, it was held every Sunday and open to the general public.

Guys, girls and cross dressers - or at least the guy wearing only a skirt :-) It looks like its meant to be a kilt but is several sizes to big (ie. a 5'6" tall guy wearing a 6'8" scotsmans kilt...) :-)

You can buy the sword or make it.

Some people will lend you a weapon for the day for the cost of a dollar.
