I just got in from watching the show that is your amazing legacy on tonight, the 12th anniversary of your death. Thank you thank you thank you for leaving us the gift of rent. Thank You Jonathan Larson. Rest in Peace.

Although the sound has been disabled, this video was very lovely. I agree that 15 years after his passing, Mr. Larson would be proud to see his masterpiece become a magnum opus and successful art that will and forever continue to inspire everyone. And he is still smiling even after RENT has closed its doors.

@xemily91 Me too! When I was like in 7th or 8th grade. Right now I'm in tenth :)

i got into jonathan larson just recently... he was an extraordinary person in ordinary surroundings... its funny to me how much his work rings true with everyone
-
well thank you, i pride myself on my criticism-taking abilities
i know what you mean, that pisses me off, too
-
WOW!!! you take criticism well... I now get what you are saying... I pisses me off when people say they love Jonathan Larson but they only know rent... I'm like "He did a hell of alot more then that".. I actually found out about him because my friend handed me a copy of the script from Tick, tick Boom, read it, loved it, and researched him. Sucks he died.. Im a playwright so I read Plays...He was defenatly one of the better writers ive come across.

believe me, i know all there is to know about him. i know he wrote tick...tick...BOOM! and all the other stuff (which i love btw) but i think rent is what made him a legend.
after all, if it wasnt for rent, you probably wouldnt even know his other works existed, and neither would a lot of other people.
i understand what youre saying though
very nice. I was unfortunatley, born after Johnathan's death, so I couldn't see the early rent cast. I've become obsessed with RENT in about 8th or 9th grade (which is around four or five years ago). I know 98% of the spoken & sung words. =]
And, too bad about the audio. I'm sure it was a good song!

Okay, so wait a second I'm trying to do the math.
You said you were born after Jonathan Larson's death (1996), and then you said 8th or 9th grade was four five years ago, which would mean your somewhere around 19 or 20 years old.......?

ooops, forgot the year he passed, i was born in 1991, making me 18. sorry, math was never my strong subject, haha. XD

Aha, I see, well that explains it :)
But yeah I became obsessed with RENT around the same time so I'm right there with you.
Still haven't gotten to see it on stage yet.
