  • Thank you both for your comments. For the record, Tecumseh did not stop making small engines, rather it sold the division five years ago to another company to focus on its core business - refrigeration and air conditioning. Tecumseh is also a publicly traded company owned by stockholders. In today's competitive global marketplace, having a singular focus was deemed by the board to be the best approach for our stockholders, customers and employees.

  • @openwheelmanic Yeah me to man. I've got a couple myself. I have a 9.5 horse snow king and a 3.25 horse 2 cycle Tecumseh on my little Toro Power Light. Whats the 9.5 horse called? It is an HM90? Its a flat head with a cast iron bore. I've had it since 1999, too bad its on a POS crapsman snow thrower. The Snow thrower needs new parts almost every year but the Tecumseh just keeps on going. I think this year I'll rebuild the carb though.

  • @workensmart I agree with your comments re the state of the company as it exists today..its unfortunate but true..i've got a few Tecumseh engines (H50, 2x H70s, 3x HM80s, 2x HM100s and a OHSK70) so i'll just keep running them until i can no longer get spares or performance parts (extremely hard to locate these days)

I'd rather be running a 10 year old TEC than a new chinese clone whatever.....just my opinion

  • @openwheelmanic I think they are trying to play it off like they never made them. Tecumseh owned the small engine market a couple of years ago pretty much everything had Tecumseh engines. They were good solid engines. But the company is under new ownership. I guess they wanted to bring Tecumseh back to what they were originally know for. A/C compressors. A company called or Certified Parts Corporation is bringing back the Lauson name which is the small engine company Tecumseh bought out.

  • It was kind of stupid for Tecumseh to stop producing small engines. All it did was open the doors for all the chinese junk to flood the market. Now even Toro is using chinese engines in there snow throwers. They should be using Tecumseh engines. NOT chinese junk.

  • Enjoyed the video...but no mention of Tecumseh Engines?
