1997年東芝EMIから発売「甦るオッペケペー」より
三代目桂藤兵衛/作 川上音二郎/演出 『オッペケペー節』

1900年(明治33年)パリ万博での川上音二郎一座の公演をイギリスのグラモフォン社が録音したもの。川上音二郎の声ではありません。

イギリスのEMIに保管され埋もれていたものが、1995年に再発見されました。
日本人最古の録音と言われていましたが、これより一ヶ月前に録音されたものが後に見つかったので、二番目に古い録音となってしまいました。しかし日本人の歌声としては最古­のものではないでしょうか。
