Kirk's death scene from Star Trek Generations.
Has to be the best 'last words' by any character in a movie: ".. Oh MY."

  • @browner2345 I think the choice of burial grounds is rather symbolic. Just as Kirk died in the line of duty, rather than in some cushy bed at Starfleet, he was buried at the site of his greatest victory, rather than some graveyard at Starfleet.

  • @browner2345 There is a comic which explains what happens to the body.

Kirk was already buried on earth and instead of having it all changed, Picard kept the whole thing between himself, kirk and Spock.

The comic is about spock going to the planet, and he transports kirks body from the ground into a pod, and takes it back to earth, then teleports it into his grave.

Before that though I thought it was just Picards way of honouring Kirk, and not having the temporal instigations guys bother him.

  • It was a decent death scene, I don't know about best ever. Clearly you haven't seen Blade Runner.

  • spock should be at his side.....

  • @browner2345 I suppose he could have deserved a better burial as well as a better death, but I don't mind this scene much, as it shows one torch being passed to another as one captain buries another which I always thought was a strong scene but I do see your point. It's a shame Kirk wasn't as involved in this movie. It wasn't a great movie but not terrible either.

  • If this scene doesn't bring tears to your eyes, this should help:

According to Shatner, he ad libbed the "Oh my..." line because Kirk was finally going "where no man has gone before."

  • I made a happy thought from this. Kirk is still alive only he is still in the nexus. Only this version of Kirk died so kirk is still alive living his dream in the nexus

  • @luckyirishxxx nice nostalgia critic reference lol
