the story goes that when diamond was busted for marijuana, he got a deal where because he was a big star, he'd get off easy if he recorded an anti-pot song. he agreed, got the lighter sentence, and then recorded this song.
though the bios talk about people whose lives were wrecked by drugs, the song lyrics themselves sound so happy and silly, like it's more of a pot PROMO than anti-drugs.
