This is a true gem. Richter has a unique feel for Bartók and even though there is a plethora of mistakes throughout the two sections, he manages to excite and fascinate though his tempi are controversial. The atmosphere of the Hungarian countryside is vividly captured and his sound is absolutely beautiful.

Megrakjak a tuzet,megis elaluszik!

beautiful use of dissonance. Bartok knew a thing or two about harmony...
-
many many thanks, Truecrypt, for this and for all the rest.

Thanks, Truecrypt! (:-D) The great Richter in this, one of my favorite works for piano by Bartok. What a fascinating performance this is...languid and far slower in the opening than I have heard before...
Спасибо!
