  • A great song, "Joey" is Springstein-like in it's social commentary, arguably the third of a "trilogy" of songs about Geldof's Dublin life, Rat Trap and When The Night Comes being the other two.

I genuinely feel that the Rats were one of the best ever live bands, and for three years, 77 - 79, one of the most dynamic, creative and entertaining bands in the world, very underrated in the UK, it was a shame that they changed direction after their third album "Surfacing", great band, great times

  • The sax player was the now sadly deceased Dave McHale. The Rats song 'Dave' was written about him. The Rats always had a great brass backing in their later live appearances.
