We try so hard to speak english with a slang, that is our definition of good english. and thats the type of english we like to see on tv or whatever.

Ever thought why its ok for models of other nation eg russia, germany etc to speak broken english but still deem acceptable to us.

Singapore's mother tongue is Malay dudes =.=" Anyway Claire did not speak perfect English either. And she's not pretty at all. Her interview sounds fake and is similar to Ris Low's. She was hesistant when it comes to her course of study too, but why isn't anyone pointing to that fact? Just are people por-ing her just because Ris Low has made a mistake? Lol. I don't like Ris Low either , but I don't see why people feel that Claire should get the throne.

@yeoje88 Some minor corrections here. Singapore's mother tongue is NOT only mandarin. We recognise 3 other official languages, aside from English. These include Malay, Tamil and Mandarin. In fact, our national anthem is still sung in Malay and our military commands are still done in Malay. Please do be very careful with the potrayal of Singapore. We are discussing abt our country's affair here. Shut ur gap and stop condemning our language. U whites can't speak Gd English too and at times. Wrong tenses were used. Shame to Tat. At least our mother's tongue is mandarin so it's pardonable as compared to an English speakg bkground who can't speak perfect English.
