God... why does everyone have to get tribal, I am into boarding and your a biker. If the guys are having fun and not hurting anyone... who gives a shit. As for the macho man who doesn't use his brakes... you should try doing it on a rigida with block brakes like I did years ago, probably when you were still in juniors! lol

If this vid seemed boring to you its because the riders are inexperienced, you can easily do the whole track they did no brakes and pedaling your ass off. Sorry if I sound like an ass here but slow riding always gets me irritated.

I also have no doubt those who posted are far more 'extreme' than I but in over 10yrs MTBing I've had a grand total of 2, possibly 3 days where I couldn't cycle due to injury. The point I'm making is that I'm using the brakes because I don't want to go faster, not because I can't go faster.
In case you hadn't guessed by the musical choices I'm not claiming this to be extreme - it's supposed to be a mellow, relaxing video to match the character of the trail and attitude of the rider.

Nice to see a bit of 'I'm faster than you' style willy waving going on (I'm surprised it didn't start ages ago). Time to clarify a few things:
1. I'm using an XC bike, not a DH bike, so the braking bumps are as big as or bigger than my suspension travel.
2. I cycle for the climbs, not the descents as climbs are a far more legitimate test of biking ability as your speed is limited by your ability rather than what speed you're willing to risk crashing at. Descents are for resting between climbs.

The songs are: 'Three Speed' by the Eels and 'To The End' by Blur... The second one in particular was going through my head all week I was there. Heading back this Saturday for another two weeks :-).
