I'll be doing a lot of welding in the next few weeks as I knock up some more pulsejet engines and fix up a few broken bits around the place.

This video gives you a little tour of my TIG welder and explains how the TIG process works.

  • This looks like one that I was going to buy on ebay from China. Is this one make in China? What do you think about this welder for general welding? Have you needed to adjust all the settings or do they give you a point to start? Would you recommend this welder to someone that had tiged in the past or is it only for hobbie? Your videos are great fun to watch. It looks like you fly on the airports main strip. No problem coexisting?

    Thanks for your videos.

    Don

  • @amtpdb1 There are quite a few very similar looking welders coming out of China. I'll be doing some "how to" videos showing how to set up the welder and how to weld different materials.

  • I know with arc welding you use a rod and mig welding you use wire but with tig do you add any material?

  • @garrrbo Sometimes you do, sometimes you don't. When I make pulsejets I do a lot of fusion welding where, because the bits of metal overlap slightly, there's no need to add extra material but in most cases you add filler by hand using a rod of the appropriate metal.

  • I was hoping to see some actual welding :/

  • @Mena142 You will!
