This is a video about using gel transfers in mixed media art. I have tried to explain a bit about how I try to do the gel transfers. I've had numerous good teachers - Misty Mawn http://www.mistymawn.typepad.com/ and Claudine Hellmuth http://claudinehellmuth.blogspot.com/ are two that I mention on the video.
I must also mention the beautiful music of Loreena McKennitt http://www.quinlanroad.com/ Without that magic, this video would be so much less interesting.

  • very insprational, i love your art. thanks for the tips. some videos i have seen suggest using a soft gel medium, i only have heavy gel would that work? atm I am trying Tar Gel on an image i printed on my printer, have 3 coats on it so far. do you think it will work and also how many coats do you use generally?

  • Your art is lovely. I will try this technique. What was the music played? It was very soothing.

  • I am so glad to hear that you had success and that you were apparently having so much fun. That's an important part of the whole process of art, I think, to have fun.

  • thank you so much for sharing your technique with us. i have tried so many times to make a transfer but nothing worked. yesterday i tried your techique and i got a good transfer. i was so excited i started making transfers all night. i had to let you know that your technique is the best i have seen so far.
