These are images of a trip my son and I took to Shiloh, Tennesse last summer (2007). We traveled around the park on bicycles which is a great way to do it. The park is very expansive and the bicycle allows you much more freedom of movement. Although it might be against the rules, you can take off into the woods to find artillery batteries and other spot markers of skirmishes and company locations. I'm sure the vegetation has changed significantly since the actual period which is what I immediately thought about on entering the park. It would be a great project to find images and drawings of that time and those days of of the battle and recreate a series of panoramic views of what the area might have looked like to the average foot soldier. If you've never traveled to Tennessee, it's a great place. The people and food are great and the scenery is gorgeous. Ryan and I also toured on our motorcycles. The back roads are truly exilerating. The roads were in great shape and very twisty.
