  • it's better with a turkey in the oven and a punkin pie on the ready!!!

  • @bocephus510 Heheh...I HEAR ya!

    Thanks for watching!

  • Love it Redneck - but I don't think the tab that's showing is what you're playing. The tab is showing a '3' on the sixth string when you're playing the '4' on the second string (the D sharp) - but you're not hitting the sixth string with your thumb at that point. You're hitting the fifth string at that point. Thanks for tutorial.

  • @Wats4Crick There's a definite chance I may have some mistakes in the tab since I did it in a very round-about way (you might even say bass-ackwards) using PowerPoint and PhotoShop before incorporating the resulting pics into the video, so something could have easily gone astray. Sorry 'bout that...and thanks for watching and commenting!

  • Is there a version of this with a capo on the guitar like in the video of Arlo Guthrie singing Alice's Restaurant? Or did you transpose it ?

  • @JerryWE This version is basically the way Arlo plays it, just without the capo. The fingerings are the same and putting the capo on 2 actually makes some of the reaches easier.

  • This was such a fun little riff to learn. Thank you so much for posting it! Any chance you might fix the tabs to be exactly what you are playing....? I'd love to have for posterity!

  • LOL I think I had an easier time learning Dust in the Wind and Blackbird than the infamous Alices Restaraunt... Good Show, hope this will help me out for 2moro...

    Happy Gobble gobble...

  • hello! y'all hillbilly!! :) how long have you been playing guitar?

  • You sir are a gentleman!

  • I have trouble picking my nose let alone finger-picking. PLUS, I play a 12 sting so I'm doubly handicapped.

To overcome this, I've de-tuned a whole tone and use a capo on two, plus I use a flat-pick ... et voila!

For an arthritic old fart I've managed a passable alternative. All I have to do now is remember the words which is another challenge as I can hardly remember my own name some days. Still, if I keep taking the medicine and stuff I should be OK...

    Now, where was I?
