Devon's P.O.V. (cont'd) "I have a plan," Joe said as he answered the phone.
"What is it?" I asked hoping it was good.
"Well, we were thinking that we should tell everyone that we are best friends, including Sam and Sara. We have an interview tomorrow morning and it"s sure to come up so we'll tell them then," Joe explained.
"Well, one that doesn't help my problem of people recognizing me and two I don't want to drag Sam and Sara into this," I told him.
"I understand, but I don't think that there's any way for people to not recognize you and telling people about Sam and Sara will help dismiss the dating rumors," he told me.
"I guess you're right," I said. "Goodnight."
"And goodbye," he laughed.
"You're hilarious," I said sarcastically. "I miss you."
"I miss you too," Joe said and I blushed slightly. "Make sure to watch the interview tomorrow then you can see me," he laughed.
"Haha, I will. Bye," I said hanging up.The next day I was watching the interview with some friends on my floor. They were all shocked to find out I knew the Jonas Brothers and even more shocked when I told them I was dating Joe. I knew none of them would tell. A picture of me flashed on the screen when Joe was asked a question about me. He handled it well and told the interviewer about Sam and Sara. The interviewer seemed skeptical when Joe told him that we weren't dating, but let it slide. As I was looking at the picture of me on the screen I saw my old life, the one where I was never recognized, disappear and I was nervous. I didn't want to go everywhere on the look out for people who might recognize me and the constant paparazzi following me around. I wasn't sure if I could handle it, but I knew one thing for sure, Joe would help me.
Joe's P.O.V.
I woke up earlier than I wanted to the next day, but it wasn't too early. We had the day off thankfully, so I could relax for the day, at least that's what I thought. I went downstairs where my mom was making pancakes for Nick and Kevin and she made some for me. I love pancakes in the morning, this is going to be a good day. Once I finished eating my phone rang. I looked at the caller ID and it was Devon. This day just keeps getting better. The first thing she said was that we had a problem. There goes my great day.
I was trying to stay calm, but I couldn't stop thinking that she was going to break up with me and I thought yesterday went so well. Turns out the paparazzi published the pictures of me and Devon on the front page. I admit I was slightly relieved that she wasn't breaking up with me, but I knew that she didn't want to be the center of attention. I told her I would talk to Kevin and Nick and come up with a plan.
"Ok, we need to buy every newspaper there is," I said to Nick and Kevin after I hung up the phone.
"There's a slight problem with your logic, we can't get to every store in the country," Kevin said.
"Well, we need to do something so that people don't think Devon is my girlfriend. You know I don't like my relationships to be public and Devon doesn't want it to be either," I said.
"My best thought is that during the interview tomorrow we tell them the whole story, since the question is bound to come up, and we tell them about Sam and Sara and that we were just on a friendly visit," Nick suggested.
Devon called me later that night and I told her about our plan. After some convincing she agreed and I went to bed planning what I was going to say the next day. I wanted to make sure I sounded convincing and didn't hesitate. The next night we drove to the studio where we had the interview.
