@VictorLepanto There was both an Afrikaans and an English version of essentially the same anthem. It wasn't divided up into Afrikaans and English sections, you could basically decide for yourself which version you sang.

@bornandbreadinSA: So they just did it in 2 parts, one Afrikaans & one English? The old Nkosi Sisele is certainly a beautiful simple prayer of intercession. I hope more the a few people speak these words w/ a sincere heart. I doubt if thoughts of God trouble many of the leaders of the ANC Party.

Now as I understand it, the opening part is the old Nkosi Sisele. The middle Afrikaaner part is the old anthem. Where does the English section come from?

@caiissa Ummm..Should? They shared their liberation struggles, a good bit of history, and their SOUL. Nothing in the rule book has anything to say about the southern African experience.
