What do people do for work? What is the driving economy there? We are looking for a smaller town more southern? Looking on the census profiles it shows great promise as far as the mean income for family households but where do people work? logging, mining... cough cough...tourism?
Logan lake is lacking in small businesses. It would be nice to have a few nice shops in town. We do have a bargain shop, which is handy but quality of products lacks in my opinion. There is a small section of harware in our pharmacy but we need a real hardware store. So many people have to drive to Kamloops for clothes shopping, hardware, pet supplies and so much more that it makes it difficult to support community business. It's great that we are close to the city, but more local shops needed!!
We have no swimming facilities at the moment and that would certainly be a great thing to have. We sure could use a teen lounge or arcade/poolhall or something for our teens. I think the church and the WHY try to have "teen" nights but only a small handful of kids take advantage of that. Perhaps something that was non-church related would be good so that those that aren't the religious type might feel comfortable to. Any other idea for our teens anyone????
I didn't see anything about geocaching but they do that in LL, There are many organisations if you like to be part of a group. I love living here. It was a great place to raise small children. It does, however, lack in the area of things to do for teens. Lots to do if they are the outdoorsy type, Yes they can dirtbike, but they don't have a spot in town to leave from which means someone has to drive the bikes or snowmachines so they can go out. That is a big pitfall!!!
