Third episode of the short lived ABC show "Aliens in the Family"
It premiered in March 1996 as a part of the new TGIF line-up. Brian Henson, Jim Henson's son was the executive producer of the series. It was created by Andy Borowitz , who previously created the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. The show aired at 9:00 following "Muppets Tonight" for two weeks. After that it was pulled and the remaining six episodes were aired on Saturday mornings, beginning in July.
Joanna Kerns makes an appearance in this episode.
This was the first episode that aired on ABC's Saturday morning schedule [11:30am-12pm(et)] on July 27, 1996, four months after the network had removed the series from prime-time on Fridays. They had a commitment with The Jim Henson Company to air all eight episodes, and decided, since kids were the show's biggest audience, to let it "play itself out" on Saturday mornings.
