Recorded in a piano recital about water, the 4th Barcarolle of MENDELSSOHN, played in Paris, Pavillon de l'Eau, Isabelle OEHMICHEN, piano, the 7th of September 2008.
The hands / arms are not the problem. The problem would rather be that se looses the rythm with exagerated ritardandos, accelerations and accentuations. It lacks continuity. However it is a personal interpretation, she feels it like that and I understand her temptation because Mendelssohn was to me one of the greatest TRUE ROMANTIC (natural and without pretention) German composers ever, along with Schumann and Brahms. This piece shows as well how M. inspired Liszt.

Let's try it once more without the ridiculous retarded over-exaggerated arm and hand movements, shall we. Whack-job.

Interprète parfaite, hélas mauvaise prise de son et acoustique médiocre du lieu.
