New Metallica inspired by old Metallica ? (part 2)

Despite its production, Death Magnetic is critically acclaimed by critics and fans all over the world.

Even though I really like this new Metallica record, I've noticed a lot of similarities with some of their older tunes.

Did they lack new ideas ?
Did they want to "revisit" their past ?
Or maybe I'm just dreaming and hearing similarities that don't exist...

YOU be the judge.

Dude The Unforgiven III is supposed to be compared with the original Unforgiven from The Black Album, btw I tihnk Flamingo which was the original slow speed and working title for All Nightmare Long can be compared with Shadows Of The Cross but where did you get that song?

lars uses the same basic beat for every song. the only song he really changes is that was just your life on the pre chorus with the china and high hat IMO
