The ship tour

A quick tour (after a sleepless night) of the lil ol'warhorse i sailed on from aug-oct'06. The shipyard is in buckie,scotland. One of the very few old world jalopys remaining that take you back to what shipping really was like in the days of yore after the wooden boats. Four of us crew to handle it all between us- navigation, cargo, engineering and cooking; pilots rarely turn up to take us in and berths right in the heart of villages with fishing boats or at the edges of some far flung island that doesn't get a cell phone signal. beautiful.
work, eat, drink and party through it all. i've never drunk so much on any ship in my life...hell, it was illegal to drink on some of the larger ships i did. but those were literally over a hundred time heavier than the 850mt of this baby. and they had five times the crew on board. and they carried flammable oil products. this geriatric beauty here is in another league..she's living history me hearties..
