Sonic Advance - Angel Island Act 1 - Knuckles - 0:34:28

What you see in this video is a combination of layer manipulation and a superglide to finish this act in a time way lower than the programmers expected you to. Believe me when I say that this is probably the most awesome superglide that you will ever see!

I didn't. It was a Brazilian fellow YouTuber nicked Yoritoshi. He uploaded this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCHVlrUytOs
I watched it and thought that it could be useful to time attack some act. Then, after further research, I discovered that it would help in Angel Island Zone Act 1 playing as Knuckles and I managed to finish the act in less than 40 seconds. Then Quartz (known as Quartzfox on YouTube) came up with the idea of the superglide, and you can see the result on this video.

- "What is a superglide?"
Playing as Knuckles, if you jump and glide in a certain angle before contacting an enemy or item box, your glide is higher and larger.

- "Is it useful for time attacking Sonic games? If so, on which acts?"
Of course it is useful! There are a few examples of acts of the classics that you can complete faster if you perform a superglide: Aquatic Ruin Zone Act 2 (Sonic the Hedgehog 2), Marble Garden Zone Act 2 (Sonic the Hedgehog 3) and Sandopolis Zone Act 1 (Sonic & Knuckles) spring to mind. There are also a few acts of Sonic Advance where it helps: Angel Island Zone Act 1 (as seen on this video), Angel Island Zone Act 2 and Egg Rocket Zone.
