  • Hey Evan, just thought I should let you know, but Evans has a newer revision of the Hybrid Greys. they call it the Evans Coated Hybrid and it is a mix of the Evans Hybrid Grey and an Evans MX Frost head so it has a frost coating on top of it. Also, it doesn't look as trippy unless you look at it from an angle

  • @TheDrummingAsian Thanks, the Hybrid coated is a thinner head designed for drumset use, and cannot support marching tension.

  • Hey Evan -- do you think the Hybrid S black compares to the old Premier Marathon mylar? That was my favorite head for small lines, but Premier stopped making heads quite a few years ago. I stocked up on all the Marathons I could get, but have run out.

  • @bpaluzzi Hey man! Good to hear from you! In regards to the Hybrid S Black, I'm not exactly sure how it compares to the Marathon's (They are a little before my time!) But I can tell youthat it is the most open sounding Kevlar style head I have heard, and it's darn close to the sound of the modern mylar tops when tuned lower. Rhythm X used them for a section of their show this past year, you might want to check out a video or 2 of that. They actually used 4 different heads throughout the show!

  • @volkweinsmusic Ah, if thats the case, would you recommend it for drum set? cause I have an Evans EC Reverse Dot on my drum set snare right now and its about to break. I was thinking of either that or the Evans Genera HD Dry

  • Aaahhh hybrid grays are the best:)

  • @TheDrummingAsian Note: They still offer the regular Hybrids though. so its Evans Hybrid White and Grey, Hybrid S, and Hybrid Coated

  • evans G2!

  • @bpaluzzi 4 sets of snares...36 drums. We bought 20 of them and sold them off individually! I drove back from finals with 18 snares in the back of my car!

  • @volkweinsmusic 4 different heads? Wow! So they had 4 sets of snares? Or just individuals having different heads? Or did they do a head change in-show, a la the tick in 2002 Blue Knights? :-)
