After years of wanting to do this trip, i finally got a chance to backpack through Yosemite and hike to the top of Half Dome.
We did it by hiking to Little Yosemite Valley and camping for the night. Then the next day we waited till the late afternoon to start our hike up to the top of Half Dome to watch the sunset and have dinner up there. Then we hiked down in the dark and camped one more night before heading back down to the valley.
It was an inexplicably amazing trip! Lots of fun moments, a big physical challenge, and the chance to make new friends, all add up to one memorable weekend.

Great vid. This got me excited for my trip on the 23rd. Looks like the new permit system is really keeping the crowds down.

@apodable7 It is, but they still allow 400 per day. However we went really late in order to avoid the crowds and watch the sunset, after all the day hikers had left.
