It was a wonderful time having excellent horn bands like B, S & T, Chicago, Tower of Power, etc.

No comparison here, sport. Thomas's delivery is contrived, constricted, and just plain ugly. As a serious wanna-be black guy, he liked it that way. I'll give him 1 thing, however: He was a good brawler. Chicago? Well, besides Cetera, and more important than Cetera, that far more and deservedly successful band had the inimitable Robert Lam. Charm, looks, writing , writing, writing. None of this is to suggest that that B.S.&T sucked, as much as they bored me. Just to say the obvious: Chicago!

the trumpet player chuck winfield was my teacher last year, I traded fours with that dude. He's a burning player. He retired, I miss him around.
