The constitution has a very loose description of the duties of the VP, all it says is that the VP shall be the President of the Senate, but shall have no vote except for a tie. @FURepublicans What are you talking about, Palin was right. The Constitution loosely defines the role of the VP. The VP has the power to overrule the parliamentarian as Joe Biden did in the health care debate. Matthews has no idea what he is talking about. John Adams played an active role. On at least one occasion, he persuaded senators to vote against legislation he opposed, and he frequently lectured the body on procedural and policy matters. Just as Palin described. You are the moron.
