Young Essex Jazz play Benny Goodman Big Band Sing Sing Sing

Young Essex Jazz, directed by the wonderful Jon Eno, perform Sing Sing Sing at a charity concert for Little Havens Children's Hospice at Chelmsford County High School on Saturday 12th July 2008.

Sing Sing Sing was made famous by the Benny Goodman Big Band featuring Gene Krupa on drums.

About Young Essex Jazz (YEJ):

Young Essex Jazz is for students who have little or no jazz experience but have a strong interest in playing Jazz music. Players should have gained a minimum of grade 3 on their chosen instrument but there is no audition required for entry into the band. The group meets once a month on a Sunday and allows students to develop Jazz Skills such as improvisations. Attending Young Essex Jazz will help anyone who wishes to join a more advanced Jazz Orchestra at a later date.

Jonathan Eno, Musical Director, recently completed a MA in Composition at Colchester Institute School of Music and currently is the Musical Director for the East Midlands Youth Jazz Orchestra. Jonathan is an experienced jazz musician and teacher, specialising in developing Jazz skills in young people.
