  • The bronze ludwig sounded amazing.

  • @kronier I love that drum. Probably the metal snare I would take to any gig. The sound is like a cross between metal and wood. It's not pristine (had been drilled for a Pearl throw) but it's all Ludwig now and it's a beauty. Thanks for posting.

  • Rogers Dynasonic for me..

  • @ibernalq The Dyna's a special. I really like them. Some drummers don't get into the snare sound but I do. And what a classy drum. They just feel so good to hold! Thanks for the post.

  • Love the gripper! Trade my left one for the 552. I Have a PreSerial (61er62)Ludwig Pioneer in White Pearl, I tune it much tighter. I love playing with the instability of the 6 lug tuning, how little edge spots get tighter than others. It's interesting after playing for weeks on my 9x14 HeavyRockNine with those 1/2inch aluminum 10 lug hoops. Great job on the vid.

  • @PappaTiempo Thanks very much. The Pioneers do seem to have their fans. I had it tuned lower for a certain sound but I'll give your tuning a shot - thanks!

  • radio king is best!!!!

  • I think this is the most fun and funky snare drum shootout on You Tube.

Drummers, recording engineers, true hip hop dj's and B-Boys should agree.

    Well done troutstudio.

  • @troutstudio Really all are awesome... you are a very lucky guy having all those snares man..

  • Radio king for me

  • @PappaTiempo Thanks very much. The Pioneers do seem to have their fans. I had it tuned lower for a certain sound but I'll give your tuning a shot - thanks!

  • @tmaddrummer Thanks very much indeed. The RK is a special drum. I have been playing it quite a bit and I believe it's sounding even better now. Single ply shells have quite a different sound, imo. It's not original (it was trashed when I got it) but the shell is so strong and amazing since it was made in 1956.

  • @pharyngealized No. The bottom head is fairly tight; but I don't tune the top heads so tight as other players might because I prefer the stick to dig in a little. Thanks for looking

  • @rr7firefly Thanks very much. Your comments are much appreciated. All the best with your music.

  • @HR2635 Thanks! Please see my "Three Ludwig Snare Drums" video - I didn't have the Supra when I made this, but I do now!
